TRAINING PROGRAMS SYNOPSIS

FIELD MANAGEMENT OF SECURITY PROJECTS (FMSP)
The Field Management seminar is designed to assist security installers, technicians and project managers in effectively managing the work in the field. As an introductory course in project management, Field Management offers a foundation to prepare individuals for a career in project management.

The one-day seminar covers the following:

  • Understanding the “project plan”
  • Planning the field work
  • Controlling the field schedule and resources
  • Coordinating with other trades and subcontractors
  • Documenting of field conditions and changes
  • Demobilizing and closing

SECURITY PROJECT MANAGEMENT (SPM)
This training course is designed specifically for the management of security projects. It provides a practical approach to practicing Project Managers to “proactively” manage and control their projects.

The two-day seminar covers the following:

  • Introducing the “Projectized “ organizational model
  • Defining the role of a Project Manager
  • Identifying risk areas in executing security contracts
  • Planning and scheduling security projects effectively
  • Controlling project cost and schedule
  • Recognizing and negotiating change orders
  • Identifying how to effectively close a project
  • Managing multiple small projects
  • Managing subcontractors
  • Managing the project’s financials

SECURITY PROJECT MANAGEMENT FOLLOW-UP (SPMF)
This workshop is designed specifically for individuals who have successfully completed SPM. This workshop provides management with a tool to measure the effectiveness of the initial training seminar. Students will be asked to conduct a project audit type review. During the workshop each student will be required to give a 30 minutes presentation to the class. A group forum will provide feedback.

The one-day workshop consists of individual classroom presentation followed by a class discussion and feedback session.

Individual presentations will be limited to a 30 minute format and will include the following:

  • Audit of a completed project (outline will be provided)
  • Discussion on how SPM principles were applied, including successes and difficulties
  • How the Daily Logbook was maintained
  • Job binder content
  • Job schedule updates
  • Job re-estimate and revenue forecasting

ESTIMATING AND SALES PROPOSALS (ESP)
This training seminar is intended for Accounts Executives, Sales Managers, Estimators and Project Managers. The seminar is designed to prepare individual for the “smart way” of estimating security projects and writing effective scope letters and proposals. It also provides a tool for assessing existing estimating skills within the organization.

The two-day seminar covers the following:

  • Review of pre-seminar Sales Proposals and estimates
  • Ways to maximize your estimating time and resources
  • Presentation on the 12 steps of estimating security projects
  • Review of effective “Sales Proposal” elements
  • Discussion of the role of sales in successful project management
  • Introduction to Project Managers “Wins”
  • Discussion on how to sell your company’s project management capabilities

ESTIMATING AND SALES PROPOSALS FOLLOW-UP (ESPF)
Attendees will be asked to bid on a modified security project as they did in the first estimating course and to come prepared for a formal sales presentation. Each attendee will then be given a one half hour to complete a “boardroom” type presentation. After each presentation, students (client) provide feedback and rate each presentation on content, form, style and price. At the conclusion of all the presentations a “winner” will be chosen.

XTREME PROJECT MANAGEMENT (XPM)
This workshop provides practicing Project Managers the opportunity to use knowledge learned from previous PM courses, with their work/life experiences and apply them to a complex security project. Each student will work in small teams, planning and executing a complex project that plays out in a compressed timeline. Each team will be asked to apply the standard project management tools, i.e. WBS, CPM, and resources allocation and then integrate them with real life issues. Attendees will be challenged with unanticipated problems that they have to address within conventional project constraints.

This two-day workshop immerses you in the real life experience of managing a simulated security project, while providing a unique opportunity to build practical skills in a focused and dynamic environment. You will leave the workshop with valuable new skills to use in managing real world security projects.

FINANCIAL TRAINING FOR EXECUTIVES (FTE)
This seminar is designed to provide Executives and Senior Managers with the essential tools for understanding and managing the organization. It provides a working knowledge on how to use financial information to better understand and manage the operation of the enterprise. The seminar covers principle financial statements and project financial reports.

This one-day seminar will cover the following:

  • Basics of financial statements
  • Application of Performance Metrics and ratios
  • How to prepare realistic budgets
  • Cost and project controls
  • Cash flow projections
  • Perform accurate revenue forecast
  • Revenue recognition and billing

CONSTRUCTION LAW AND RISK MANAGEMENT (CLRM)
This training seminar is designed for the Management Team as an introduction to Construction Law and Aspects of Contracting. It also provides a practical tool for assessing and mitigating risk on security projects.

SECURITY SYSTEMS DESIGN AND APPLICATION (SSDA)
This seminar is specifically designed for sales individuals with a limited knowledge of security management systems (SMS) and their integration with various related sub-systems. This course also applies to sales professionals with limited experience in the security industry as well as those security sales professionals with limited experience in integrating security related sub-systems into a single solution for their customers. Individuals entering the security integration industry may benefit as well, through its generic overview of industry-related products and integration.

COACHING AND COUNSELING (CC)
The Coaching & Counseling seminar is constructed to maintain morale and focus on performance goals, teach job skills and learn how to give effective feedback, whether it is in the coaching or counseling mode.
